AERIAL SPRAYING FOR WEST NILE VIRUS
TO BEGIN IN NASSAU COUNTY ON
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY
AUGUST 11TH AND 12TH
Aerial spraying for West Nile Virus will take place, weather and conditions permitting, in your area August 11th and 12th in the evening between the hours of 7pm and 5am. It should be noted that outdoor activities which will take place within the hour of the spraying should be cancelled and residents should be urged to remain indoors.

PUBLIC SAFETY NOTIFICATION
Law Enforcement Intelligence sources have uncovered a possible threat from overseas regarding internationally shipped cargo originating in Yemen and other Arab nations. Packages could contain items such as printers, toners or cellular phones.

Any unexpected UPS, FedEx or other delivery service package originating overseas should be deemed suspicious. If in doubt as to the authenticity of the package, notify the Rockville Centre Police Department at 766-1500.

  1. Remove all vehicles from the roadways. Vehicles left on the streets will be ticketed. All overnight street parking permits are cancelled. Overnight parking is available in Field #12 on Sunrise Highway between Forest Avenue and Long Beach Road.
     
  2. Clear snow from any fire hydrants on or near your property.
     
  3. Do NOT throw snow into the street when you dig out. Cleared snow must be kept on your property.
     
  4. To report any snow-related incidents, call 678-9267.
